Your results are in......

Your Test results DO NOT define you as a person or predict your future kid! It’s just another hiccup and part of your journey.

This morning we traveled down to Devos Children’s hospital for Walker’s 6 week post op Esophagram to make sure things are passing freely through his esophagus AND to see if the myotomy was enough to not have to fix his ‘snug’ stomach wrap from his first surgery. My mom came with to watch Cash in the waiting room for me while I went back with Walker to radiology. They first had him lay down and do the barium swallow and NOTHING moves. I was okay seeing this result as after his manometry at Mayo Clinic, we now know his Esophagus is a dead muscle so we have to rely on gravity to push food and liquids through. I am okay with that as the majority of us do not eat or drink laying down. So we had him stand up and unfortunately that darn stomach wrap is limiting fluids from traveling through like they should. THIS was always in the back of my mind...but seeing it happen, especially during the holidays makes me so sad! This kid has just gone through SO much and now it’s a possibility we may have to travel back to Minnesota. The results were sent to our Specialist and Surgeon at Mayo today. We will await to see what they think we need to do. Waiting is the hardest part and my heart breaks for my Warrior Boy if we have to leave yet again for more procedures. We truly appreciate everyone’s prayers, postive vibes and messages! We hope everyone had a fantastic a Thanksgiving! We sure did! I hosted and it was nice being around all our family at home. We couldn’t leave the hospital without our 3 stooges selfie! We are in this ride together....Larry, Moe & Carly!

On a side note: the Children’s hospital had a Wish tree and I found the largest donation envelope. Paying it forward this holiday season. No kid should be spending the holidays in the hospital and they deserve to be blessed too!
